The Single App that Will Change the Way You Live. Yes, Really.
Great news: The GoBe iOS App is finally in the AppStore. Version 1.0 is up now, and a fresh release will be out in 2 to 2 1/2 weeks—just in time for our Indiegogo supporters to start using it! But there's more: The GoBe Android App will be out on Google Play at the same time. Not to exaggerate, guys, but the GoBe App will profoundly change the way you experience your body and how it works.
So, without further ado, here are the five major sections of the App that will help you understand exactly what your body needs so you can feel your best every day:
- Energy: Here's where you'll see how many calories you're consuming and burning, in a simple, easy-to-understand graph. It also shows you how many grams of protein, fat, and carbs you're eating.
- Water: This shows how hydrated you are and gives you recommendations about how much water you need to drink.
- Heart: Lets you keep tabs on your heart rate and blood pressure, around the clock.
- Sleep: Much more than a sleep tracker, this lets you to see everything there is to know about your sleeping cycles.
- Stress: Shows exactly how your body reacts to what's going on in your environment, so you can figure out what's stressing you out.
It goes without saying that each of these sections of the app will give you all the relevant and detailed information you need.
(Don't forget, though—the GoBe body manager is a tool to help you live a healthier life, not a medical device, so be sure to check with your doctor, your personal fitness trainer, or a nutritionist before you make any big life changes based on what you learn from the app.)
The GoBe app also lets you monitor your body manager's battery level and the Bluetooth connection between your GoBe and your smartphone. (BTW, the GoBe app uses Bluetooth 4.0, also known as Bluetooth Low Energy, so both iOS and Android apps will work only on devices compatible with this technology). You'll also get notifications whenever there's an available app update—we are planning to update both apps about once a month.
Of course, the release of both GoBe apps doesn't mean that our developers get to retire. Right now, they're working on adding a “Goals” function to help you set and achieve...well, goals. You will also be able to get super-detailed data from a given period а time (we're talking about a range of 1-2 hours), which will let you do things like compare the results from several days of training. Also, coming in 2015, the GoBe app will use the information you give it about yourself—age, weight, etc.—to make personalized recommendations about nutrition and physical activity.
The developers are also working to enable integration of the GoBe app with other mobile apps' API—like the HealthKit app, which was presented worldwide in iOS 8. The GoBe API will be made available toward the end of 2014 or early 2015.
But, wait! There's more!
We're also working on adapting both apps for different mobile devices. This last issue primarily concerns the GoBe Android app: we are now focused on providing excellent performance for all Android devices, regardless of screen size and resolution. In the future we'll be creating a version of the app for Windows phones as well.
One last thing: We need your feedback. We can't improve without your help. That's why we can't wait until the GoBe body manager is out there on some wrists and we can start hearing directly from you about your experience. It's going to be good to GoBe You.
